Trout Fishing on the McKenzie in February
Morning on the McKenzie.
Looking forĀ steelhead, or anything that would bite. No one else out, and a misty morning. Quiet and peaceful. Enough time for perspective, without getting in trouble for neglecting duties. Being on a river with a friend tends to melt away the world, and restore peace.
Beautiful Afternoon on Crescent Creek, Central Oregon
Prettiest river I didn’t catch a fish in. Beautiful afternoon, but low water and a lot of sun made for tough fishing.

1 Part Looking for Fish. 1 Part not Caring.
It’s tough to care what happens when your view is this beautiful. The solid thud of a brown makes the day shine, but fishing for me is an excuse to hear things, see things and be surrounded by water. Sometimes, I just don’t care if I catch a trout. Sometimes, I just want to sit, cool my legs and be. I didn’t catch a damn thing today.
